Pool Noodle Marble Racer- Easy Pinterest Activity

I recently pinned an activity that was cheap and easy.
I did not look at how they made it.
Just go with the flow.
pool noodle form dollar tree.
cut it in half then used toothpicks on the bootom
to connect them.
To make sure it stayed together through kid play
I added duck tape on top.
Then I used some old cupcake toothpicks down the
sides for girly race flags.
And some duck tape to make the start and finish.
They had marble races.
They had plenty of fun for a dollar.
The girls have never been so tan.....
"mom, your as tan as a ghost"
I've heard.

It's been a good summer so far.

Ok Little Boy.....

So when Daniel was a sweet one week old
I woke up in the middle of the night to feed him.
Then we headed to the usual changing.
Except this time he sneezed, which made him
projectile spit up on my leg and shoot baby
poo out on my arm at the same time.
So I'm scrambling to clean myself off
and grab another clean diaper.
Put the diaper under him only for him to pee
all over himself, me, and my bed.
So another clean diaper came out
and now I'm laughing an exhausted
crazy lady laugh taking his and my clothes off.

So back to nursing him to sleep.
We had a talk about how I love him.
I carried him for all those months and how
I love him to pieces and he may not
pee, poo, or projectile puke on me on all in one night again.

Now fast forward three months and I really thought
he understood our talk.
No peeing or pooing on me.
Maybe an occasional full tummy spit up.

I even got a little cocky about it. Telling Derek this week
that Daniel loves me to much to pee or poo on me.
And then it happened.
Last night in bed.
He threw our talk right out the window and peed all over me!
Then he proceeded to laugh.
I grabbed the 2nd clean diaper to put on him.
But first I had to re-clean him off.
Only to have the boy pee all over me a second time!
and laugh again, right in my face.
So on to the 3rd diaper.
Then we both just slept naked b/c I was to
tired to go get us more clothes.

I will let it slide b/c he didn't poo at the same time
and b/c he's so cute and b/c his
laugh makes me melt, even if
I was covered in pee.....

Berry Picking

The rain brought us some nice cool weather.
We went out on a breezy 64 morning.
Headed to the sweet berry farm.

We may have eaten a pound or so.

They have tons of different berries that bloom at all
different times. There are thousand of beautiful blueberries.

Every time he's in the backpack he sucks on the strap.

7 1/2 lbs of blueberries.

2 1/2 lbs of blackberries.

When Kirstin gets home we will go for fall raspberries.

The Girl is Gone

A certain oldest sister has left the building.
For one whole month she is on vacation.
I hope she soaks up all the family fun she can.
These little ladies are sad. A little lost......
After her and Derek left for the lunch and
the airport it started raining.
The girls ran around outside with their hands
in the air shouting "we love you Kirstin!"

Hoping their voices could reach her plane.
Miss you Renee.

Super Easy Crock-Pot Pulled BBQ Brisket

I love bbq.
I may live in the north, but I'm southern on the inside.

I have always seen those t.v. food shows
that have delicious looking bbq
that takes hours.

I'm a mom to 5 so the only
hours I'm spending cooking are
in the crock pot.

In a bowl mix:
-a whole thing of your
preferred bbq sauce
-2 tbls brown sugar
-1 tbls Worcestershire sauce
-2 tsp mustard powder
-2 tsp garlic powder
-2 tsp pepper
-1 tsp season-all-salt

Put in bag over night in frig to marinate
b/c you need a 5-6 lb brisket it won't fit in a single
gallon bag so I duct taped two together.

Next pour brisket and all sauce in crock pot
on high for around 7 hours.

Then I took brisket out and put it on a cutting board.
I easily scraped the fat off and shredded the brisket.
Put it back in the crock pot to soak up juice.

Slap it on a bun.

We all loved it. It was very tender and flavorful.

If you like a little kick,
dice up some fresh jalapenos and toss them
in with the marinate.

I'm making another one this week so I bought
2 gallon ziploc bags so hopefully
it can fit in just one bag ;)

Her Bestie......

Last summer while playing at the mall
playground, Kaveri met a little girl named Isabella.
They played for about an hour.
We chatted with her mom and her grandpa.

Fast forward two weeks and it was meet the teacher
night at school.
Guess who was there, little miss Isabella.
They walked into school everyday together
for all of kindergarten.
Literally, whoever got there first would stand in
the parking lot until the other one got there too.

School field trip.
 Sleep over.
out to eat.

Well Kindergarten is over and they are
on to first grade.....
and of course they got the same teacher so it
will be together :)

Daniel- 3 Months Old

 He's just at 11 lbs.
Daniel has been making the cutest coo's
and squeals.
He loves when I sing to him.
He hangs out with me in the kitchen
 while I cook dinner.
And he's my personal snuggle bunny.

Isn't he so stinkin' cute!
It's so easy to fall in love with him.

Hand Prints on Canvas- Easy Project

White Canvas from Micheals with %40 coupon
makes it $6.

Paint it black with craft paint.
Each girl picked out their own color.
I used a brush to paint the color on then they pressed
their hand down while i went over their fingers to make sure
the paint got a good stick.
MiKayla had a little trouble.
Then me and Derek used our thumbs to make a heart.
Daniel's hand was a little tricky.
I waited until he was asleep then Derek held the
canvas. I painted his hand and pressed it down.
It took two tries.
The first one wasn't a good one so I waited
for the paint to dry and painted over it with black.
The second print wasn't perfect but
it does the job.

I used a stencil for 2013.
