Sad but Sweet Reality

With summer in full swing
I have realized that Kaveri will be
leaving "us" and starting school come September.

That makes these moments bitter sweet.
Some nice mornings while I drink coffee, the
girls play outside on the deck. I watch them through the window.

Dancing in the sprinkler that is watering the garden
while I spray paint something:)
These girls have been besties for four years!

They ride their "bikes" inside alot.
MiKayla loves riding behind Kaveri:)

Fourth of July.
Before church.

Burritos watching Mars Needs Moms.

I know that Kaveri starting school will be really hard
for Kylie. Luckily her and MiKayla have gotten really
close and enjoy playing together.

Introducing Two Lovelies

First:
Got him at some random store that was locked but I
managed to knock my way in.
He was a mere 40 bucks with all his creamy chippy glory.
The hinges were ancient so Derek replaced them.
On the inside he has dividers that my scrapbooks fit
PERFECTLY in. It was meant to be.
He lives in the dining room/office.
Second:
This little beauty. For 32 bucks I
got a freshly painted green petite dresser.
Solid wood.
She has these sweet delicate knobs.
Also found this super sweet bowl at the antique store.
She lives in the "spare" room.
It's called the spare room only because no one sleeps in there
on a regular basis, but this will be someones room,
and this little dresser will happily hold some tiny clothes,
eventually;-)
But Kylie has adopted this room for the past 10 nights.
And yes she really is tucked in and ready for sleep with ALL those animals.

Flower Wreaths with Tutorial Links

I have a large window on my front porch
that I wanted to hang a wreath in.
I bought a 26 inch grapevine wreath and spray painted it white.
Beware those suckers suck up a ton of paint.
Then I googled fabric flower tutorials.
And I made a bunch of flowers.

I hung it with burlap and lace.
-View from inside the dining room.

But then my small corner window
on the other side of the porch was looking lonely
so I made another one. But its about half
the size as the big one.

yeah I made like thirty flowers!
Love them :)
I used felt,cotton fabric,burlap,lace,buttons and pearls.
I have attached the tutorial links below in case you wanna make some of your own.
Some of my flowers I winged and some I combined tutorials.

Summer Sports Camp

Our area has lots of summer programs available.
Most of them are sports.
We let Kirstin choose what she wanted to try.
She chose volleyball.
This is the only picture we really got :(
There were lots of girls at volleyball of all ages.
She also chose tennis.
We told Emma about tennis and she joined in too.

There was six girls total in her age group.
Derek went to middle school with the tennis coach.

They learned the basics and did alot of drills.

I really enjoy the camps b/c you get to
take lessons for a week straight and decide if you enjoy the sport.
You don't have to waste a whole season, ya know?
Kirstin said from 1 to 10:
Volleyball -a 10 she really likes
Tennis-an 8 she likes
Running- hands down a 10 she loves
Soccer-um, not so much

She really wants to try a swimming sport.

Officially Finished Built in Desk

Derek did everything!
I helped as much as I could.
We cut and stained and glazed and painted all pieces!
The curtains I got from Target, I folded them in half and used those
clip hook rings on a cheap rod that is hidden.
I bought this chair at an antique  place.
I left it chipped b/c the kids play this computer and it
is destined to get chipped anyway.
He built me the "floating" white shelves I wanted.
This is the coloring/homework supplies.
Derek worked very hard to build me exactly
what I wanted.
Isn't it purdy! Thanx Babe:)

A New Kinda Ball

For MiKayla's birthday, one of the gifts gramma
got her was this.
This big ball that squirts lots of water from all directions.
Kirstin went to swim at Emma's which
created some sad faces, until the ball came out.

MiKayla would stare it down, then  run as
fast as her little legs would go.

Then Kirstin came home and joined in the fun:)

I love summer memories and this ball will help make lots of them.
