Five years ago today, I gave birth surrounded by my family.
Five years ago today, Derek was fighting for our freedom in Iraq.
Five years ago today, Kaveri was born.
Our first telephone conversation after she was born:
Derek: "is everything ok with her"
Me: " yes, she's fine. why?"
LONG PAUSE
Derek: "she looks like a lumpy potato"
they met in Feb. on his leave
1st Birthday.
2nd Birthday.
3rd Birthday.
4th Birthday.
She went from being our chubbiest lumpy potato baby to a beautiful skinny mini.
She has a sweet, gentle, caring heart.
She is shy.
She loves the Lord.
yesterday while talking about her birthday:
Kaveri:"can you still be my mommy and daddy even when your old"
Me: "we will still be your mommy and daddy even when YOUR old"
Kaveri: "forever?"
Me: "forever and always"

This made me tear up. I hate that I had to miss it. She is such a sweetheart, I love her so much. Please let her know I wish I could have been there and I love her dearly! Happy Birthday to my beautiful Kaveri!!
