Daniel Meets His Sisters (and the pup)

The girls spent the first two nights with

our friends. My gramma caught

a midnight flight and got here quick.

When we got home from the hospital

they were out walking.

I got comfy on the couch and waited 

for the swarm of screaming girls.

And yes the dog had his head in there too.

Lots of head licking.

(and yes, they were all wide-eyed as I changed the first diaper)

Why?

What do you get with a call to 911,

a trip to the E.R., and 

an admittance to the hospital?

A PAIN IN MY BODY KNOWN AS

KIDNEY STONES.

Passing kidney stones are 

accompanied by but not limited to:

-pain so bad you can't stand

and you are forced to be on

your hands and knees in 

a rocking motion

-enough sweat dripping from

your entire body to soak your clothes

down to your undies

-screaming and crying

-puking

- of course a lil' hyperventilation

-and finally the conclusion 

that you must be dying

The nurses were nice enough to give us an extra bed for the 

girls to share.

I had to have blood work, urine test,

ekg, and a CT scan.

The biggest concern was a bloodclot.

But in the process I was cleared

of a huge check list of things.

And I ended up just passing some kidney stones.

Now, we spent a little over 8 hours 

in the hospital and didn't get home till

3:30ish in the morning.

So tired you end up holding your sisters 

butt as a pillow.

I woke up today feeling like I

went a few rounds with Mike Tyson

and must have lost them all.

The doctor told me it would feel

like internal bruising all over my torso

and she was right!

Let's Meet Daniel

I was due April 20th.

My c-section was scheduled for the 17th.

My water broke on the 10th.

I have never gone into labor.

My water broke around 6 am.

I changed my undies and went back to bed.

Yeah, I thought I just peed my pants.

Around 9 I got outta bed and realized 

it wasn't pee.

Derek called our friends to come

get the two younger girls.

He called another friend to get the 

school girls.

I showered, packed our bags, and

the girls bags all while crying my 

eyes out.

Questions and Conversations About the Baby

The baby came early so he is 10 days old.
I was planning on posting this the night before the hospital.
Lots of fun posts coming.

It's no secret around these parts that we are not to

familiar with baby boys.

There are lots of discussions about what it will be like.

Here are the ones I want to lock in my brain.

Kaveri: "what will Daniel be wearing when he comes out of your tummy?"

Me: "nothing, he'll be naked"

Kaveri: "so all the doctors and nurses will see him?"

Me: "yes"

Kaveri: "why don't you get him dressed first?"

Me: "because I can't reach him inside my tummy"

Kaveri: "Well how 'bout you eat some of his clothes then"

Kylie: "Daniel is a boy?"

Me: "yep"

Kylie: "He's gonna have a PEEEENIS?"

Me:" yep"

Kylie: "so when you change his diaper, his PEEEEENIS will be in there?"

Me: "yep"

Kylie; "so I have a private and he has a penis?"

Me: "well we all have privates"

Kylie:" ok , so I have a private private and he has a penis private?"

I have a feeling when we bring Daniel home,

there will be lots of curious girls wondering 

just what exactly is in that diaper.......

(besides baby poo!)

Kylie:" I don't like Daniel"
Me: "why would you say that"
Kylie: "Because he won't coooommmmmeee OUT!"

MiKayla: "When Daniel comes out how many  teeth will he have?"
Me: "none, they grow later"
MiKayla: "how will he eat?"
Me: "he won't eat food, just drink milk"
MiKayla: " then how will he smile?"

MiKayla: "Daniel will have tiny baby feet?"
Me:"yes"
MiKayla: "so I can kiss them"
Me: "yes"
MiKayla: "but if he tries to walk down the stairs
he will break his legs?"
Me:" ummm uh-huh"

William Turned 19

My only baby brother has turned 19.

His birthday fell on Easter this year and it was nice my dad 

got to be here.

It was a good time.

I was 10 years old when William was born.

Kirstin will be 10 when we bring Daniel home

next week.

Something special..........

A Sweet Treat

My dad came to visit the day before Easter.

A few hours after he arrived we had a

knock at the door.

Chocolate covered pineapple bunnies + fruit.

chocolate covered bananas + fruit.

A dozen chocolate sprinkled covered strawberries.

These pics do not do it justice. 

The arrangements were huge!

We have never had anything so yummy and

 beautiful delivered :)

Maternity Photos- My Big 'Ol belly

Since this might be my last pregnancy

I wanted to make sure I got plenty of 

pictures of my big round belly.

Daniel sits almost always on my right side so 

90% of the time my stomach is very lop sided.

I had fun and Derek did a great job.
